Farmall ignition switch

Does anyone have a source for a better push-pull ignition switch for the letter series tractors ? Have had several new and old ones fail due to water getting inside.

What model?
Suggest tarp for the water ,what I use when I leave tractor in weather conditions For longer periods of field works.
vendor I like Brillmans in Vir . Or here check YT part in the header of the page.

It is the International AI. Switch mounts vertically on the steering column. Understand, yeah, a tarp, but these tractors were designed to be left out in the field and operated.

Sounds like after you change the switch you need some sort of roof to park under during off use times. Even just one of those car roof deals would help a lot. Tarps will wear paint off if it has just been repainted from the wind moving it, or even if it has not been recently painted. Just some poles leaned together and covered with a tarp using s steep slope on them will work better than just tarping over the bare tractor

My tractors sit outside all the time and don't have a problem with the switches getting water in them. I did have a new one that was junk from the box and another only works when its turned in certain position to make contact so I know what Buffalo Pete is saying. Its not a ground problem either - just junk switches. I have found the many electrical parts from this site and similar sites are not good quality and I won't buy them from these sites anymore. I would buy from Brillman as mentioned in an earlier thread. That's where I go for condensers and regulators also.

Short answer is no. They all come off the same production line in an offshore factory, packed in containers, put on a boat and sent over here. Middlemen sell them for a few cents each to anyone who wants to resell them. The resellers package them up, or don't, and charge more or less based on the logo on the package.

The original switches had a felt seal on the stem. A couple drops of oil once in a while helped keep water out. It is anyone's guess as to how or if the new replacements are made.
