Ok, I teach high school Ag mechanics and we have a students tractor come in a Farmall M, he and a friend were working on. Needed a new clutch so they ordered one and a pressure plate, and had fly wheel ground.
Well nothing is working, it was extremely jumpy so he brought it in. We tore it apart and I need some data or numbers to figure this out. Th8nk a few things are going wrong.
1st the fly wheel was ground and I don't think they ground the area that the pressure plate bolts on to keep the same distance from mating surface. Current is 1.47 inches.
2nd. The kids messed with the pressure plate forks (where throw out bearing goes) and they are not even, or I think no where close to what they should be.
Does anyone have those data points?
Let me know please.
