I think this may have been covered before, but I do not remember the solution. I purchased a replacement fuel strainer body for my kerosene Farmall M. Ordered a genuine one from the dealer and duly received the part. Now it has largely dissolved into a fine paste, which has blocked the fuel strainer, and managed to insinuate itself into the body of the carburetor. I will have to replace the part, but do not want a repeat. Are there good ones being made, or should I look for a new old stock item? I didn't mind paying for the genuine part, but it is clearly not fit for the purpose intended. I have not used ethanol fuel, so do not believe that is the problem. Advice suggestions gratefully received.
