Farmall m governor

my dad was taking hay with the m and he said it should throttle up more he’s raked hay on an H before and I feel like the tractor should turn more rpm what is the factory setting and could I turn it up a little bit with out hurting it to much

If it is at the factory spec, I would not turn it up, if it is not check that the linkage to the hand lever is moving the governor arm all the way. There are springs and a small bell crank/lever on the cylinder head on the carb side of the engine that often is a problem with weak/broken springs. Jim
