Farmall M input shaft

I just split the M to put a 400 motor in it. The input shaft has some slop to it. Is that normal?

If you refer to the clutch shaft the pilot bearing in the flywheel keeps it from having play, the rear end of it is in a coupling that flexes, so if the tractor is split, it will wiggle easily. If the flex coupling at the transmission is loose, or the input bearing at the top of the trans where the coupling is located is loose, that needs replacement (now is very easy when split. Jim

Yes, I was referring to the end of the input shaft. It just wiggles around a little and I just wanna make sure that was OK thank you

Might be easier to a slight degree. On a Farmall M I am fairly certain the Liftall unit (belly pump) if it has one needs to be dropped out to access the flex coupler.
