Farmall M problem

I just helped my brother rebuild the engine in his M. After the initial warm up period I removed the valve cover to retorque the head and reset the valves. That is when I discovered that the #6 push rod was dry where it meets the rocker arm. I oiled it, put the cover on and ran it for a while, then removed the cover and checked it again. Dry again! For some reason oil is not getting splashed on that particular push rod :-( Any ideas?

Use a small drill bit to unplug the oil line on the rocker arm. Oil is forced out of this oil port. Run the tractor with the valve cover off and you will see oil being forced out of the working rockers. Marv

It is cool watching those solid lifter engines run without the valve cover. I had to do the same thing for a similar problem on my old Ford 223.
