farmall serial number

i have a friend that has a farmall that im trying
to figure out the year and model and what it is
worth sheet metal is straight tires are decent 50%
or better. serial # is fab 196521 i believe it is a
1947 B. may be some one can help out if im wrong.
thanks for the help. ps i have no photo of tractor

Yes, that serial number is a 1947 B. Most likely the tractor is as well. However, there is more than a small chance parts have moved from one tractor to another. Without a picture, none of the rest of us can say whether it is still a Farmall B or if it has turned into some sort of mangrel.

As to value, even with a picture but no first hand viewing, anyone's suggestion won't be much more than a guess. It would be somewhere between a few hundred and a couple thousand.

Just FYI, may not be as simple as you think. I discovered the front half of my "H" is 1950, the back half is 1951.

Does it look sort of like this one but with a lot wider rear end??? If yes likely to be a B. The picture is of my BA which is the front half of a B and the rear half of an A. If I had a picture of a B I would have posted it but all the Bs I have are just parts tractor and not complete any more. By the way I am also in Missouri the Lake of the Ozarks area

FAB 196xxx was built in Chicago in 1947 one of the last built there early fall or so. The model is a B thus FAB in front of serial#. The Bs were also built in Louisville that year starting with serial# 200,000
