(quoted from post at 19:50:51 01/10/20) I respectfully differ that the blades don t matter. There is generally only one cutting edge on a mower blade. By reversing the direction you are using the blunt side of the blade.
They made a L59A-3 and a 59A-2 both were for the superA-140 series tractors(quoted from post at 18:40:03 01/08/20) iirc The L is for left discharge and was for A s. The 59 is right discharge and for the cub.
I ve been told you can twist the belt on an L59 but you would need to get blades for a 59 for it to cut
(quoted from post at 19:03:07 01/08/20) I see belly mowers for sale now and then and most are listed for Cubs. What model mower would have been used on an A or super A? L59 Woods listed for a Cub the same as one for a super A? Thanks
If you google search "woods undermount mowers for vintage tractors" (without the quotes) you'll find a link for a pdf catalog of Wood's mowers that will fit an A or Super A. I was concerned that my A might struggle with a 72" L306, but it has been no problem.
