Farmall Super A ground cable location.

Does anyone have a picture of where the ground cable would bolt to on a 6 volt Super A? I have an idea, but the cable wasn't bolted in place when I got the tractor. I'm pretty sure it bolts to the hole closest to the pedals on the steering wheel side of the box.

If you are asking about the original location: The ground (+) terminal of the battery is at the left rear of the battery. There are two bolts at the top rear of the battery box that are screwed into the battery side of the operator panel. The ground cable is about 6 inches long and goes across the rear of the battery and is secured by the right one of the two bolts already mentioned. This should be illustrated in the Parts Catalog, and probably also the Owner's Manual.

If you want a practical suggestion: A lot of people go to another location to reduce the number of potentially bad connections to complete the ground circuit. One option is to use a flat braided strap attached to a bolt in the bell housing, like one of the ones that hold the panel. Get one long enough to reach up over the back of the battery to the battery terminal. This is easier if you have the later style 3-piece battery box.

Yeah, the top rear of the battery box with the bolt to the right is what I'm referring to that I'm thinking it went to. I'm trying to keep the tractor as it is for the most part since it was my grandfather's and I inherited it to keep it going to the scrap yard. Thanks for your reply.

Not original, but a "made up" battery cable that goes
directly to a starter mounting bolt bypasses a questionable
original ground.
