Farmall Super A Hydraulic Pump

The hydraulic pump oil is leaking into the crankcase and shaft is worn so I will need to install a speedi sleeve. Does anyone have the part number for the correct speedi sleeve?
Thanks in advance!

You can look them up by size. Need to measure the shaft size with good calipers or a micrometer.

Remember a sleeve can only be used when it does not interfere with assembly!

Sometimes you can find a different width seal or install the seal at a different depth to let it run on a fresh area of the shaft.

The shaft measures .622 in the grooves worn by the seal but measures .625 in unworn areas. I put a new seal in but the new ones are very narrow as compared to the original seals. I think I have room to install two of the narrow seals so may try that before I go the speedi sleeve route.
Thanks for your help.

I'm following this one closely. I have a '52 that blew out its hydraulic pump a while ago and I ran it without it for years until I got my 444.

My mechanic friend who specializes in old iron inspected it and said I need to get a rebuild kit for it. Haven't yet as there is no hurry now that I have my "new" tractor.

Let us know how it goes.

I was not successful using speedy sleeve
Od was. .637 will not enter bore unless it Has housing bored out. I chose not to because no going back if unseccessful.
I choose polish shaft with crocus cloth and replace o rings with new , my shaft is approximately .6215
So far it is holding 1000 psi gage on rockshaft operating with load .
I have the pesco pump design , there is a Thompson , I prefer pesco

You might have better results using spay weld shaft build up ,and cylindrical ground to .6245 ,I dont know
1. You have to build up wear.
2. Access to cylindrical grinder. Grind to finish .
Brief explanation of issues
Advice to those who have these pumps
Dont through away thing
Otherwise you have to make new from reverse engineering.
Best to start looking for used units to refurbish. If you equip to do machine tool work .

Some pumps new pumps sell for 410 to 1500 so shop around

I chose to fix mine with o rings and polished shaft . This may not work , so far my test show it was successful.
I bought a package of new o rings from McMaster Carr the are cheap 25

I might have to buy new pump.
Good luck
