Farmall super a

Good morning! Ive been looking for a front end loader for awhile now and most of the tractors and loaders Ive been finding are clapped out and they want top dollar for them, I found a farmall super a with what I think is a Henderson loader and the guy I spoke with says it is, the price seems good and the tractor looks pretty good, he said the hydro cylinders leak a little bit, from the pics what do you guys think?

the a is a small tractor and was not designed to handle front end loaders. 1) you will soon tear up the front end, unless you are mighty careful. 2) the a does not have 4 wheel drive, which you need if you pick up dirt and such.

I grew up with a Farmall BN that had a loader on it very much like the one in the picture.
It worked fine as long as you stayed within the boundaries of what it was intended to do and the tractor was capable of. It was certainly better than a manure fork.

That loader is more accurately called a manure loader. It will do other things, but it is not a bulldozer. If you get too rambunctious, you risk breaking things that are not easily repaired. Don't forget that the engine block is also the frame of the tractor on a Super A.

Keep that in mind as you use it and it should work fine.

Im only gonna use it for light duty stuff, bringing firewood to the house after splitting,clearing out our path back the hollow,small dirt works,moving ash pile stuff like that and the wifey said she would use it too in her garden just doing odd things like that.

it will work just fine as long as you use common sense.
