Farmall Super C vs. C Engine Difference

Ok gang, I was just curious to know if there is any way (without tearing into the engine to take measurements etc.) to tell the difference between a C-113 and a C-123 engine. I know all the usual visual things on the exterior that help one tell the difference between a regular C and a Super C such as curved brake petals, taller radiator and water pump. Aside of those obvious items, can you visually see anything on the block that would give it away (maybe just the obvious appearance of the water pump?)? I have heard from some that C-123 is stamped on the block while others have said that this number isn't on the block. I own SH and SM tractors, but this will be my first dealing or ownership of a Super C that I am picking up this weekend. It has all the normal Super C identifiers, but someone asked me if it was the original engine and of course the owner says it it, but I have no idea and was curious. Thanks very much!

I don't believe the C-123 will be cast into early engines. The actual part number of the block will be there, which changed for the Super C. The engine number which is stamped below spark plug #1, will be "FCM" followed by a number at least 100,001 if it is a Super C engine.

That's the confusion I am having as I am used to being able to identify a block in Super H or Super M. I have seen some blocks with C-123 stamped on the upper right side of the block on the oil cannister side but I was told those were in the number series tractors after the Super C so I dunno! lol

You have no way about the history of that engine where it has been if it was ever repaired so th only way to know for sure is remove the head ad measure the bore. What is the cast code and I-H part #. What does the # below #1 spark plug o the block
