Farmall Super M question

I am looking to buy a super m for pulling in amtique 5000#-6000# classes and was wondering about how much horse power I would have with 4 1/8" high dome pistons, stock stroke, shaved head, and a Baker cam. Or would I be better off doing something different? All ideas will be helpful. Thank you. Ryan

I would say your in the 65-70hp range.

I would consider 4.310" - 4.375" pistons at 9:1 or 10:1 compression. That is what you are going to need to get you to 70 HP if you are running stock RPM's. Baker cam is a good choice. I don't have one but I wish I did!

mine with the over bored steaped head pistons on the dyno is just over 60 with stock manifold carb 6 volt ignition and worn governer so i would say with good of all those and deck the head u should be up around 70

If you want to go bigger, and are going to add some stroke, it seems that a little and a lot cost about the same so you might as well go for a lot. If you want to go bigger than 320 ish cubes than you might as well jump straight to 400 plus.

Thank you guys. I do have one other question about the 4-1/8 bore will the sleeves drop in with out boring the block?

Yes, the Super M (C-264) engine takes the 4 1/8" overbore without boring the block.
