Fast Hitch Install

Hello all!!

The weather is changing and it's time to get back to working on my 53 Super A. I have a chance to get a Fast Hitch and was told that the rocker shaft arm assembly on the left side(inside arm) needs to be changed if I plan on using the large helper spring, on that side for the Fast Hitch. How hard is it to get to that back arm, to change.

I have a 53 Super A with fast hitch but I have never disassembled the rocker arms. You can go to the Case IH parts site and see the exploded view. It doesn't look too bad.

Also, if you need some photos of an operating Super A fast hitch, I'm happy to help out.

Well...I figure I'll need to remove the fuel tank, which I need to do anyway as I have some paint lifting around the fuel filler neck...Can't figure out why, I media blasted the exterior of the tank, wiped
with acetone/prepsol, etching, 2k, then single stage urethane, etc-that is another battle however. It appears to be basically 4 bolts that need to be removed and some pins that go to the transfer pistons. I
was told by the guy I was getting the fast hitch from, that last time he sold one, they could get the left outside arm off, but not the inside one.. said he thought it was made onto the shaft(diagram shows
differ)..and they just swapped out the entire hydraulic block. I really don't want to go that route, as my unit is leak free. No sure if they are pressed on, to the main shaft, etc.

When it's mounting time...some good pictures would serve me well...thanks!
