Feeder prices

Last Saturday sale, steers 400-600 brought 3.21 to 3.70--Heifers 1.60 to 3.48 and baby calves 730.00 to 830.00 per head.
Does it still pencil out that there is much room left to make money at those feeder prices? Some years it pays better to sell feeder calves instead of feeding them to market weight.

Just about the same down here in North Central Texas. We still have a lot of good grass and there’s gonna be an abundance of hay this winter so most of the guys are pasture feeding these calves up to 7-800 pounds.

What are 500 lb beef steers and heifers selling for currently at sales barns near you?
Before you decide on a direction in what to do, a few days ago I read in a reliable, large circulation news paper, that Australia has started allowing US beef back into the country. Forget the volume but (opinion) its enough to affect the market.

Nice prices. Don't have cows any longer so I don't know what local sale barns are doing.
