Ferguson Jack help

I've been looking for a cheap/free used one. Many must have been scrapped by people who don't know what they are for.

They must work on the Ford Ns too?

.

The one we had about the old farm had big Y brackets at the ends to cradle the rear axles. Looks like this one connects to the lift arm mounts.

Doesn't look as sketchy in the video as I would have thought. How did the front get off the ground? In the brochure it shows a chain between the 2 peices. Still interesting. Kind of want to fab one up now for fun
The front piece sets under at an angle, then when lift arms raise the rear, it moves the tractor forward enough that the front bracket straightens up and lifts front a bit. A chain can used to keep the front piece from skidding.

That looks sketchy to be honest. Interesting idea, but id rather use a good jack and dunnage/jack stands. Especially because your tires are loaded.
There's nothing "sketchy" about it. They work great, and have for more than 75 years! Mr. Ferguson designed it to facilitate quick wheel tread adjustment. I knew people who, on occasion, had to adjust the wheels on two different tractors twice in the same day.

Yes the chain between pieces make the tension from the back of the jack to the front triangular piece. Every thing lifts up nicely.

Here are a couple pics. When installed, raising the arms, raises both big wheels, a couple inches.
think I need to connect left side the use the adjuster for the right side.
Correct! It will lift both rear wheels together, which means the only way to prevent the tractor from moving is to block both front wheels, front and back. Then if your 3-pt system leaks off quickly the wheels will be on the ground.
That said, I would use a >2T hyd. jack on wood blocks instead. then you can adjust the jack height as desired. Of course this method means you should only lift one rear wheel at a time for vehicle stability while working near the lifted wheel.
