Ferguson L-UO-20 loader

Can anyone tell me more about this loader? I found it in a farm yard here in Colorado and the guy who owns it wants to sell, but I would like to know how it attaches to a Ford 2N and if it needs hydraulics etc. From what I could see of it, it appears to be all there and the bucket dumps with a latch. Any pictures, drawings or descriptions as to how this works would be appreciated.

Dear Dan,

My dad bought one new in the mid 50's and I still have it and the owners manual. Two arms extend under the rear axle and hook to the 3 pt. The 2 cylinders lift the bucket about 4 feet, then the rear 3 pt takes over and lifts it the rest of the way. A bracket fits under your 3pt lift lever and taps into your hydraulic test port. This bracket thing is what feeds the hydraulic cylinders. Of course it is a very light weight unit, but we used ours for many years. Barrett Jones in North Central Mo. that still likes to ski in Colorado.

Is this loader adequate to move a bucket load of snow? that is what I might be interested in using it for. Sounds like it could be attched to the tractor pretty easily or am I just employing wishful thinking?

nice picture of loader on yahoo

also note he has the spreader with quick hitch, so he can unhook spreader, load, then rehitch, that would be handy to have.

Dear Dan,

Up to about 4 feet, it has a maximum lift of 1000 pounds. When the 3 pt. takes over it has a max. lift of 600 pounds. Yes it will lift a pretty good load for its size. Does the loader have the bracket to hook into the hydraulic test port. I could send you a copy of my owners manual if you want me to. It shows everything in good detail. We don't have a bucket. Ours came with a fork for manure work.

Arlenin, do you have the control valve that mounts where the transmission dipstick is located? I might be interested in that.

i would also be very interested in a copy of an owner's manual if you are still around.
