Cant get it to stay locked in place.

Is the latch not catching. Has a spring to make it hold.

I realize im missing at least a spring but cant figure out how it gets mounted and holds the cog in place

There is a pin at back lock. Pull pin and lock will come out. Spring is under this. You may have to make spring if not available.

Thanks for the pics. After looking at them I realized my release tower was frozen to the shaft. I lubed it up and now turns freely. then I found the flip bracket nestles neatly against the release tower keeping the release off the locking dog. I still don"t see how the locking dog stays engaged. there appears to be a missing spring load to keep it engaged.
