Ferguson TO identification

The ID plate at the steering column reads Harry Ferguson, serial #47953. This doesn"t show up on TO 20 or 30 ID lists. It does show as a 1941 Ford-Ferguson on the Ford-Ferguson ID list. The plate reads Harry Ferguson not Ford. All castings lead with TO. Is my tractor Ford-Ferguson or Harry Ferguson?

Good luck my to20 has parts that should bee on a to 30 , from all the inf I can peice together, Mine has a external oil filter, which I was told shouldnt be that way on ato20 motor

look down on the side of your engine under the distributer.
If it says Z120______ then it is a TO20
Z129______ TO30
Z134______ TO35
external oil filter-TO30

If you go to the serial number list on the left column on this page and drill to Ferguson and then to TO-20 you will see it is a 1951 TO-20. And fyi, if it says Harry, it ain't Henry.

If you have the ID plate, then printed on the plate to the left should be the letters "TO" or "TE". Based on the number it is not a TO-30. TO-30 s/n STARTED AT 60,000. Both the TE-20 and the TO-20 could have a SN in the 47,953 range. TE's ended with 48,000.

Since your casting start with TO then you have a 1951- TO-20 Manufactured by Harry Ferguson Inc. in Detroit, Mi.

The SN list can be confusing but the ending SN for 1951 TO-20's was 59,999.

I hate to be picky but it's my understanding that the last TO-20 was TO 60000. The first TO-30 was TO 60001 and went to TO 140000.
