ferguson tractor year?

I have gotten a Ferguson tractor and do not know the year it was made and what kind of motor it has (it is stuck) serial# is tea 128974 and the serial on the motor is S76647E, can anyone help? I have ordered a manual from this site but it is not in yet, thanks

motor serial #'s 45976 thru 88888 are for 1941 Ford-Ferguson. The tractor therfore called a 9N. It should have a front mount distributor. the front axle support rods are oblong-circular shape. The left brake rod has a "Hump in it" to keep your foot from slipping, between it and the tire.
If the motor is stuck up, take the spark plugs out and pour some brake fluid in the cylinder and let em soak. Drain all oils and watch for water. One drain for motor, 3 for transmison, hydraulics, differential. Inspect block, housings and radiator for cracks.
Try to free up motor with a crank or remove the starter and use a pry bar on starter ring on fly wheel.
Do not try to free things up (at this early stage) by pulling as you might break something.
Drain all gas in gas tank thru "the reserve" (some are different), but try turning all the way out on main valve or side vavle on sediment bowl. Drain carburator by removing plug at bottom.
I recommend getting at least, "The Service Manual 1939-1947" .
After these starters, I'll let the others on this sight lead you thru "Preparing to start"
1941 9N Charlie

Sorry
I didn't catch that you said I bought a "Ferguson tractor" and I was assuming you meant "Ford- Ferguson" Other than identification #'s are not right, but other advise is probably the same for either tractor (at this early stage)
Good luck on freeing up the stuck motor. If no luck then an overhaul is necessary. The stuck piston(s) can be pushed out with the sleeves, during overhaul.

Richard,
Sounds to me like you have a ferguson TEA 20 which was built in Coventry,England.
Going by your serial number it was built in 1950.Is it a dual fuel burner?

thanks george
I do not know if it is a dual burner or not, the transmission housing, motor and timing gear cover appears to be made of aluminum, it is a 4 speed trany.
it has a side mount dist. but I don"t know if it is 12 or 6 volt

Richard,
Yep you have definitely got a ferguson by your description. To see whether it is dual fuel, just lift the bonnet and check to see if it has two filler caps on the fuel tank. One for gas and one for kerosene.
Over here in Britain they are everywhere. Most farmer"s here have owned one at some point in their farming career.Good, simple, engineering at it"s best, just like the N series Ford"s

george

my tractor is a single fuel burner, got my manual in the mail, it does not show Zenith carb in the book, so I will have to keep looking.
thanks for the help
