Fiber optic leads on a 4620

What do they do I put a new hydraulic temp gauge in and broke it in half is it important none of the lights work on the tractor anyways I figured they went to a back light for the gauge but then why wouldn’t they use normal wire? They are nasty things I had to pick the little fibers out of my fingers.

The fiber optics are just for backlighting the gauges. Won't hurt anything to not have them. You may want to plug the holes with silicone to keep moisture out of the gauges.
