Fiberoptics

Does anyone have a source for the fiberoptic leads that transfer light from the Tachometer light out to the other 3 gauges on console 20 series tractors?

Mother Deere still has them available but they want $120 a piece for the 4" glass leads and I find that astronomical. If I cannot find them anywhere else I will likely experiment with making my own since I still have the rubber ends.

I used to have a 1982 Chev van. It had a fiber optic that ran from the dash down to the cig. lighter. Hope this helps!

I believe it takes special tools and test equipment
to be sure your connectors are installed correctly.
That's at least part of the reason Deere has a big
price on them.

My previous employer used fiber optics in several
products and I know there was lots of special
equipment used in the assembly areas. I didn't work
on the stuff but was around the areas where it was
assembled.

Pretty sure this is where I got mine. Tell them it"s for a JD and give them the part number.

Thanks for the leads guys. Does anyone have any more info on Evergreen Restoration? I called that number at varying times 3 days in a row and go no answer, no voice mail?
