Been a busy week again here, Monday we got rain and a couple inches of wet snow,, perfect day for me as I had a Dentist visit to go to,,, Tuesday was in the shop day, by Wednesday I was back to harrowing, yesterday more of the same and then added disking a few acres of fall plowed ground, then it was time to get the 1470 hooked to the WWC 37 chisel plow with sweeps and rolling harrow to get started going over my last years summer fallow and get ready to start planting Barley,, so far I have been over 250 acres this year already,, a record I do believe for this early in the year, I am a week maybe two ahead is all though so no worries on the global warming con

Great pics again sir. Hard to believe you are doing field work already. But then here in southern Minnesota it will be awhile. Some snow left and lots of up and down temps. Thanks for sharing.

Progress looks good Tom, what kind of servicing were you doing to the 1070 . Hard to believe there can be so much difference in temps and dryness as we are cold and wet. Rod.

I was charging the a/c Rod,, should have waited as I will have to finish the job soon as it was too cold to get a good charge in the system yesterday,, but she will run you out still so I may be good for a bit, I held the jug over the muffler hole with the engine running to get the psi up to kick in the a/c clutch,, but the air temp was so low even with the temp control at max I did not get what I wanted in the system as it kept saying it was COLD lol

Thanks for the great pics. We got 2 inches of snow overnight, heavy and wet, temps at 32* this morning . We were dry in Febuary so the local BTO worked some ground then. When you have 6500 acres to go over you hit it when you can.

I'm always amazed at how quickly you can go from snow or rain to back in the field. In our heavier soils rain takes you out for a week and snow - don't even think about it.

Good morning thank you for shareing you pictures. It makes me feel like I need to go out and work in my little bit of land. The weather here in Riverside Ca. has been warm and nice But they are talking rain for this weekend. I have been discing spots and takeing down weeds on property that needas to be cleared. I plan to start planting cucurmbers hopeing to do this at the first of April.

Tom Great pictures as always. Today I woke up to 4" of snow on the ground and 25 degrees. I am in the shop getting lawn mowers ready and working on the farm machinery also. It is sure nice to have a shop and warm floors. Jerry from Ohio

Got back from vacation about week ago.....Am-track from LA up to Chicago. Entered Missouri from Kansas , there were tractors rolling putting anhydrous down and field-cultivators running. Got back too snow and cold in Wi.
According too 10 day will have a week of mid 50'ies coming so have a good chance for early Spring "here " in Nort. Cent. Wi.

Have you ever thought about no tilling in your small seed we used to do that to our wheat in bean stubble . We also broad cast it with a ferrt. spreader and lightly disked it in. faster than drilling

does not work here we do not receive enough H20 for that to work,, we get a average of 14" of H20 a year and that includes snow, only way to raise crops like I do is summer fallow,, I have been at this a while and tried various ways of farming, if you double up on crops like you are talking you may get 10-20 bushels per acre, the way I do it I get 75-100 bpa,, and I do this with zero fertilizers other than the natural way of the stubble breaking down,, thanks for the comment/questions
