I purchased a Fimco 30 gal sprayer to use around the yard late last summer and I had trouble with it from the word go. I should have returned it right away, now I can't find the receipt for it,so now I can't get warranty replacement parts. I e-mailed the company tonight so I'll see what happens. I would not recommend one of these to my enemy. I bought it because it was made in USA, but it is crap.JUST VENTING

What kind of problems are you having??? I have had several Femco sprayers and never had much trouble with them. If it has the 12 volt diaphragm pump then they are real simple to work on and fix. They are not that high to repair either.

SO post us a picture and then tell us your problems. I don't see how it can not be fixed fairly easily.

only problem i have with them is the filter on the pickup tube is easily plugged. but it's a simple fix. just remove the filter!

I have the one on wheels 30 gal had it for 7 years no problems . Its just a simple pump hose and sprayer. Take the pump apart and install a new rebuild kit should be good to go.

Will first off, the pick-up tube from the tank kept rotating so it would not draw the fluid less than 2 1/2" to 3" deep. I then took the tank off so I could tighten the fitting better only to have the tubing break out of the tank. I then stuck a piece of pex tubing threw the hole in the tank to the pump. That worked good for maybe ten minutes and now the pump will not run without taking the wires off the pressure switch, but now the pump will not prime to full pressure.I am thinking about putting a rv water pump on it, I think that should work. All this in about one hour use time!

I wouldn't put an RV pump on there unless you can verify that the seals and other components are compatible with the chemicals you are spraying....just my 2 cents worth
Good Luck ,
Andy

The suction tube issue I can't say what caused that. The pump issue you are having now is simple to fix. You need to take the pump apart and clean the diaphragm/check valves. They get gummed up if spray is left in them very long. The pressure valve control is adjust able. After you clean the pump up and put it back together you may have to adjust the pressure control valve/switch. It could be bad too but I would bet that the pump is a Shur flow pump and the pressure control switch is only $18-20. A new repair kit with new check valves and diaphragm is only $16.00. Most TSC and Farm/fleet stores have them on hand.

Fimco assembles their sprayers from generic parts avalable everywhere. Poly tank, Shurflo pump, hose, and fittings of standard plumbing.
I have a 25 gallon model on the back of my ATV for seven years and I easily pump 200 gals a year through it. Bot I have fixed several leaks about 5 times (bad fixes) so next spring we get a new tank.

Bought a deluxe manifold sprayer couple years ago, never had any issues with it.....Would buy another in a heartbeat.

Did you flush the sprayer good after last season? Drain the filter?

Can you clean the pressure switch with water?

I have a 15 gallon as well as a 25 or 30 gallon. The only problems I have had with either one were caused by my lack of care and maintnence. Once I woke up and realized I had to clean it after each use, no more problems. My hose that drops into the tank is a piece of fuel line now. I clean the filter on the end each time as well as flush out the pump with clear water. If I have any left over liquid (I use the 15 gal. mostly for Roundup) I pour it into a jug or bucket with a cover. Before pouring it back into the tank I shake up good and then strain it through some pantyhose.
Sounds like maybe you got a lemon in the first place.

My termite man wants to put a small electric sprayer in the back of his new van to do little jobs. He has a 125 gallon tank with a 6.5 hp honda, hose real, 100 ft of hose, in his truck for the big jobs. This unit cost over $4000.

Do you think he would have problems with the Fimco 30 gallon sprayer? I'm sure he isn't going to drain the tank and clean it every day.

Is there a better small electric sprayer? I notice there are electric piston pumps and I think the Fimco is a diaphragm.
thanks
George

My buddy uses one on his Gator. They run A LOT of product through it. I used it to spray my soybeans this spring and they spray all their sweet corn with it.
The biggest problem I see is that it needs a little help priming up. We just give it a shot of air in the cap and it primes right up. Like Gordo said, if you walk into Farm & Fleet they have every replacement part available in the same aisle.

For commercial use, I would say no. Especially if it won't be cleaned out often. I killed a couple of motors due to laziness, it seems Roundup is hard on more than just weeds! I have never had to replace or repair anything since I got it in my head to take care of what I have.
I also have a backpack sprayer that I use in tight places, and after having to take it apart to clean the nasty stuff out I learned to clean it out after each use too.
I recall my Grandfather telling me an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but it took me years to realize he was right!

My Fimco is about 10 years old now with no issues. I use it about once a month through out the summer to spray roundup on the fence lines and gravel parking lot. It's a 25 gallon with a hand sprayer. It's now off of the trailer, with 2 sprayer nozzles, it came with as that part was worthless I used it 1 time to burn down about an acre before I spread the gravel. About once a year it will act up and I'll clean everything up. I have replaced 2-3 wands and the chrome plated tubing rusts out.

I'll bet your problems are due to a quality control issues with the newer cheaper components.

I replaced an ancient Schumacher battery charger with a new one. The new Schumacher charger just failed after 2 years of very occasional use. I went a bought a new one of that same brand but different model. We'll see how long this one lasts.
