Finally finish the RTU

Well, I finally got it finished for the most part. it turned out pretty good. There’s always a few things I could’ve done differently in the painting department. Still thinking about painting the 1/8 inch pinstripe on the louvers. Not sure if I should do it or not. Once it’s on there. It’s on there for good. I’d like to thank everyone who help me with this project. Tracking down the parts. and all the free advice. Couldn’t have finished it without you guys.prairieCarr The 19L battery cranked it over pretty good. I had to put a couple of 1by2’s and each side of the battery box to make it fit. But I think it’ll be all right. I used a 2/0 cable for the solenoid. And a braided cable for the ground. Once again, thanks everyone for all the help.

It looks really good. Glad the battery worked out. I am still trying to find parts for the one I am working on. The first one I done 12 years ago I could get anything I needed. Boy, it different now.

Nice job, and properly decaled as well. Just curious, what do you have for oil pressure? Your oil pressure regulator seems to be missing on the oil pump. If you are at 30-35 psi at rated high rpm you are good.

Thats interesting. I never would have noticed that unless you pointed that out. I've had the tractor for at least 15 years. I don't use it much. I doubt I've got 10 hours on the tractor since I got it from my neighbor. When I start the tractor up the oil pressure fluctuates between 25 and 30 psi. The oil pressure never did hold steady. I will have to take it out and run it a bit and see how the oil pressure reacts. I might have to find a cover with an adjusting screw.

Montidale, Your tractor likely has the early ball type oil pressure regulator on it. If you remove that cover, there should be a lock-nut and an adjusting screw inside. Screw it in to increase pressure and out to decrease pressure.

Great looking tractor!

SW Thanks for pointing that out. Now I won’t have to trame down some more parts. I think I will leave it as is for now. I would think 30 psi is pretty good. Some of my other tractors running around 25psi
