I restored this tractor 16 years ago with my Grandfather who is now 91. It was starting to look ruff, since I like to use it whenever I get a chance, so I did it again. Rebuilt carb, late syled head (old one had a crack), rebuilt the clutch, new gauges, new rear tires, new wireing, rebuilt radiator, and of course new paint and decails. It is once agian my pride and joy. Took a little over two months and 3 times the money it took the first time. It will be in use at Deere's fall fest Sept. 9 - 11. This site and many of you were very helpful in getting it done right. Thanks for all your help. Hope the pics come through.

Sorry the pics didn't turn out better, and the little guy does love Daddy's tractor. No doubt he will keep the old girl when I give it to him. Might be awhile he's only 2. I will try to repost the first pic it is a nice shot with old glory in the back ground.

You have a nice restoration and some insight. I haven't restored anything old for about 6-7 years and your 3x price for cost explains it fully. An older friend of mine said it aptly about 3-4 years ago when he observcd that restoring less valuable tractor was as expensive and maybe moreso that something that was worth more money. I can see your family situation but on the larger scale to buy and fix up sell or trade appears to be getting more difficult with the inflation of parts and deflation of values. Just an observation weighed in. Nice family tractor.

Nice work; you did a very good job.

Good to know that it is part of the "family" and has history to go with it.

The little boy will thank both you and your grandfather for keeping the tractor.

Thanks for sharing your photos and story with us.
