first reduction gear

Do you half to change the in put shaft on the transmission for a first reduction gear off of a late john deere b to work on a mid b? I've already had a bushing made for the late b belt pulley gear to work on the mid b belt pulley. Trying to make my mid b lower geared.

youd be better off working on the engine. any john deere 1st is plenty slow. you need as much speed as you can get to compete.
