Flail Mower on corn stalks

Will a flail mower cut down sweet corn stalks at the end of the season? I am considering replacing a rotary brush hog with a flail.

I don't see why it would not do a fine job. Most flail mowers have a good bit more lift than a rotary cutter. I shred 200-300 acres of combined corn stalks every year for bedding. The stalk shredder that I have is just flail mower with wider knives.

My stalk shreader is a flail type and we chopped many an acre with a John Deere flail green type chopper to load on wagons.
