is the bolt pattern / and flat back the same for all A's i.e. a 1951 the same as an older or unstyled tractor?

A roundback from an unstyled or early styled A is the same bolt pattern as a rockshaft housing for late A with a battery box seat. Hope this answers your question. Mike
