Flat Tire

I had a mowing job yesterday, had about 15 minutes to finish. The L front on my JD 401 industrial was flat, I raised the mower lust a bit to get some weight off the front, and try to finish. That worked until about three turns, then the tire started wobbling, almost off the rim. I got to my truck, jacked up the front. I forgot to block the tractor, now the jack is at a angle.. Blocked the rear tire.. Got the tire changed. I forgot to mention it was pushing 90 Degrees. Every thing was fine until I got off the tractor, and the heat hit me. My 401 B Industrial tractor has a heavy ROPS system with a roof, keeping the sun off. I ca deal with the front tires, but the rears are what I don't like. haven't had a rear flat in a long time. At 84 I don't know if I can handle them anymore. I used a service truck only one time, a long time ago. That was on my JD 5020 rear inner. What happened to you yesterday? Stan

Not nearly that interesting. The only resl bump in the road of life is i went down the drive to the hard road and as I came around the corner I saw the gate half closed. Got closer. 7" dead tree broke off sometime today and came down on the gate. Had to cut enough to get the gate open and the drive passable. Otherwise, pretty calm.

Built a new cover for my spring box down in the canyon. Can drive to about 50 yards away but then it's through the brush, steep and jump the creek. Packing tools and materials down then back up . Quite a few trips because I never can seem to figure out what all I need before I start. By 8pm was walking like a much older man, knees still hurt today. The last cover lasted 20 years. If this one goes 20 it will most likely be someone else's problem.

Saturday I was up fourteen feet on a ladder sanding and painting the soffit boards on my shop building. It is fifty feet long so it took me two days. I ran into carpenter bee damage so today I plan to move one of my two traps to that east side. The twenty-four foot extension ladder which used to weigh about fifty lbs. now weighs a hundred.

Yes.
Ended up with a bunch of free lumber an thats what i came up with

2x6 top an bottom
2x3 between top an bottom 2x6
Sandwiched with 5/8 osb on each side
Spanning 20 feet

I have the same project, same building, same bees. Woodpeckers enlarged one of the holes which a family of starlings took as an invitation to raise their young so they moved in.

I have had flats on 2 rear tires with tubes, one in the tread and the other in the sidewall. Apparently the tubes have been in the tires long enough to be glued to the tire or the air pressure I had in the tire....10-12 PSI, was enough for me to "plug it" both times and those repairs have held good for many years to date.
