Float Replacement 1938 JD 'D' Marvel Schebler DLTX-16

HI,
Any recommendations of a replacement float for the DLTX-16 carburetor? I started my D yesterday and everything was going fine, and then it quit running and had gas dripping from the carb bowl. I tried pull starting it and gas was coming out of the exhaust. I pulled the plugs and they were sopping wet with gas. I figured there was an issue with the float so I took the carb off and sure enough, there was gas inside the float. We had an extra carburetor and a few extra float bowls around, and I managed to find one that would actually float, so I put that one in and did get it started, but I am going to order a replacement float. When I did get it started, the engine didn't seem to run as fast as it did with the old float. If the float I put in there was not adjusted properly, would it starve the engine of fuel? It didn't seem to miss or backfire or anything, it just didn't seem to run up to speed like with the old float. I've heard for many years how touchy the floats can be on these carbs.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Randy
