float ride seat

have a 520 with a float ride seat. i would like toknow if their are any short cut and where to start, tried to put the rubber bushings and the adjustment screw together first seems to be a lot of tension on every thing not sure if i am starting in the right spot

Yea...4 Hands do make it a bit easier..!
You do not install the "adjuster" until you have everything else done..!

Yes, there IS a lot of pressure on the rubber springs..!! Normal....

Be careful..it CAN be done..and is worth the pain..!!

Ron..

TAKE THE CRIS CROSS A FRAME ASSEMBLY COMPLETELY OUT OF THE MAIN SEAT ASSEMBLY PUT EVERYTHING TOGETHER THE REINSTALL IN MAIN FRAME SEAT ALOT EASIER THAT WAY

t has been about 12 years since I rebuilt mine and I did it this way. I did the job alone without a lot of problems. I seem to recall using a crowbar or clamp for something but it has been to long ago to say for sure.

First drill a 1/4-inch hole into each torgue spring, then cut two short angle irons and drill two 1/4 inch holes in the angle. Attach the angle iron to the torque spring. Cut a 1/4 thread rod about a foot long. Attach rod to the angle with double nuts and push the spring apart as needed to get the weight adjusting handle attached to the torque springs.I can e-mail you a picture or look in the May June issue of two-Cylinder magazine page 38. This works easy.
