My mate has a tea20 which continues to flood. He has replaced the needle and seat and the float has no holes. It is a zenith carby. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the cause and what he might try to stop it?

The others will correct me if I am wrong but from memory the gas in the bowl height is 15mm or a bit over 1/2". Measure that externally byremoving the very bottom screw from the bowl,, insert a small diameter clear plastic tube, open the valve at the top of the sediment bowl, lift the clear tube in U position and measure the fnished gas height down to the bottom of the bowl. That height is also about level with the top of the E In ZENNITH on the side of the bowl (the Z is bigger). Bend the arm on to the float to get it right. Finally never leave the gas on when the tractor is turned off - always shut the gas off

I have a 50 ferguson tea20 with a zenith carb and there does not seem to be a way to adjust the float,it just sits in a chamber and goes up and down to open and close the needle valve, never seen one like this before. just tryoing to get it going now.

Richardnwo my mates carby is the same. We had a look at it today to see if we could adjust it The way geoffm suggested. The only way that I can think of adjusting the thing is to put thicker washer under the needle and seat to bring it down closer to the float which as you say just sits in a chamber and goes up and down with the fuel level. Let me know if you work it out.

Bending the arm on the float is standard procedure for setting the float height. That is how all carburetors are adjusted, no matter if it is a Zenith, Marvel-Schebler, Holley, Briggs and Stratton, etc., etc., etc.

Problem is rustyfarmall there actually is no arm to bend. The
float is not attached to anything. It truly just floats on it"s own
and is not connected in any way to the body of the carby. The
only way that I can see to adjust the level is to put washers
under the needle and seat to bring it down furthervtowards
the float.

Maybe some pictures would be in order?
