Fluid leaking from tires.

This week both rear tires on my Allis-Chalmers B lost fluid from the rims around the valve stems and went flat!!! Why would they both do that at the same time and what caused it????????????????

How about that spike sticking up which you ran over, both taking the tractor out and bringing it back in? The fluid is just running out around the valve stem 'cos that's the easiest route?
Failing that, perhaps I popped over one night and spiked both valves? Where do you live?

On my D-17 Allis, the valve stems both leak. I took a valve stem tool and loosened them up a little bit and screwed them back in, until I found a position where they wouldn"t leak. I think the calcium chloride solution is hard on the valve stems and eats them up. If possible when I park the tractor, I try to park with the valve stems facing the top of the tire, fluid"s in the bottom and the "stems don"t leak.

probably doesnt like getting laid, and probably doesnt even own a LAWN mower, let alone know anything about old iron.

Roland, try reseating the stems, loosen them and retighten. But make sure to put the stem on top before you do or youll have a nice bath.

Well tell us more about what you did with it last. If say you drove in and out of a gate or something you may have hit the same thing with both tires and put a hole in them both. I would try to air them up and watch to see if it fact the fluid comes out of the rim area not just the stem area. If it just comes out the stem then buy new stems and install them. Cost is around $2 for a pack of 4 stems. If its come out of the rim then yep you hit something with both tires and you will need to have them fixed or fix them. DON'T leave them long like that or you will need new rims also because if filled with CACL the rims are already starting to rust.

Years ago was driving out of hay field and someone years before that had laid a spike tooth drag section upside-down along edge of field in the long grass. I took out left front tractor tire, rear left, left baler tire and left front and rear on flat rack. Then drove 600 ft. to yard only to find tractor on elevator sitting with flat rear tire. Coincidence? Spooks? I don't know.
