Daughter uses them to help around the horses and they do seem to help. When they get full just toss in the trash.

I used a few.
What I found is the flies get in, mate, and lay eggs on the bait.
The eggs hatch to larvae, and more flies in the bag.
The ones I bought from Lowe's probably did not contain the poison to immediately kill the flies.

This is copied directly from the company website:

"Our Fly Traps do not use any killing agents or poisons. They rely on luring flies with food and feed-grade ingredients, then trapping the flies until they expire on their own."

unless their Canada market version is different?

Don't think so since insecticides for residential use has been heavily restricted in recent years in Canada.

They work very good for us. The bait used is a major reason.
Tried several "make your own fly bait concoctions" that were all massive, useless and non productive.

Keep adding water until once in awhile until bag is full of dead flies.

We then cut out the hard plastic trap part and installed it in plastic milk jugs. Then just bought the Rescue bait packets for the milk jugs traps. When full, put trap part in new jug and repeat.

We don't have these available in Australia , at least as far as I know . I could certainly use some , some blow flies are so large the resemble Bumble Bees . In the local dialect they're called 'Dunny Budgies' or 'Blue @r$ed Blowies ' .
There are some varieties that squirt live maggots rather than eggs onto whatever they deem a suitable breeding ground , usually something just taken off the barbecue .

My mistake, thought trimethylamine was toxic .
May just add a few drops of Ivermectin or the like to the mix .

I think ivermectin would be a waste of money. Might work on the maggots but maybe not so much on the adults.

I usually buy the other ones with the screw on plastic jug. I also buy the bottle of permithrins from TSC and mix my own spray in a quart spray for use on the animals, on the floor, and sides of the barn where flies congregate. It says to use a half ounce to a quart of water but I usually do 3/4 to 1 ounce with no problem for the horses and donkeys. Also have a hand spreader and buy the bags of bug killer granules for lawns. Then just spread it around the barn floor every so often to take care of the bugs, etc. Also spray and hand spread on any poop piles in the corral to help control them there. I hand spread a 10 foot band around the house every so often to keep the ants, spiders, and other bugs from getting into the house (something I have paid Orkin big bux to do in the past).

This year I bought a regular bug light and hung it in the barn and am happy with it. I unscrew the bottom deal and add some fly attract bait in it. Keep a can of compressed air handy to blow the dead bugs out of the grill once a week.

Also buy the rabon blocks the animals eat during the summer which helps keep the flies down.
