Flywheel bolts

Do all 8N's have the flywheel bolts wired?
The reason I ask is that on removing the flywheel on my early 8N the bolts are shouldered with a distinct concave head to the bolt.
No locking wire or tab washers and no sign of Loctite. :?:

doesn't actually answer your question but the bolts 350816-S are drilled for wires. There is also a dowel and bolt retainer 7RA 7609

I was wondering if some bolts weren't drilled for wires, but like the cam gear used a lock tab instead.
Had I taken more time searching I would have found that another member had the same issue. But I have the retaining ring 7RA7609

My 8n serial # 333xxx bolts are not drilled, and only used the ring, no other washer or locktite.
Mpc does show a dot for a hole.

My 49 did not have wire. I put blue locktite on during reassembly.

All 8N flywheels, all N's for that matter, were fastened with the special drilled head 7/16-20 bolts for the flywheel. Early FORDs, 9N/2N used a shorter bolt, p/n 350645-
S, 7/16 x .84 and later the 8N used a slightly longer bolt, p/n 350816-S, 7/16-20 x 7/8 hex bolts with drilled heads. They Would be fully threaded, not shoulder bolts,
so somebody replaced them at some point. Concave heads mean nothing, as stated an aftermarket part replaced at some point. Don't know about using Loctite instead though.
Red or Blue? Somebody got lazy on a rebuild.

Thanks everyone.
I decided not to overtax my brain any more than necessary and simply ordered the correct bolts that use safety wire.
After all, I've spent too much time and money to have the rebuilt engine wrecked for the sake of less that $20.
Now to track down the missing flywheel to crankshaft dowel pins.
