Flywheel dimensions

Hi ,
New to the fourm just purchased a 1975 international harvester 2400B. So I split the tractor the other day and I'm trying to determine if my flywheel is still good or if I need a replace it. I have the service manual and nowhere in it do I find any heights or dimensions to tell me if I'm within specs on the flywheel for machining or not.

Step depth is the distance from the Pressure plat mount surface (the 6 bolts) to the friction surface. I have blue ribbon clutch manuals, but they do not discuss step depth. That flywheel is serviceable if the PP mount surface is machined to the step depth. machine shops that do the work know this depth. Someone here may chime in with the number. Do not guess. Jim

Thank you for the added information that I was not aware of. I guess everything depends on that magical number that determines if it's serviceable or scap.

Yes, typically the makers of flywheel resurfacing grinders sold to automotive machine shops include a binder of service info/specifications

Can’t tell from the edges , but that all looks pretty good yet. No heat cracks or oil on it.

Looking at the spline wear which looks to be none I would think either it has been not used much or had new spline pieces put in not to long ago. If the first, the fly wheel is not worn much. I would not worry about it just have it surfaced. I would just put a new disc in with a new pressure plate and pilot bearing and go. I have only had one or 2 flywheels surfaced in my life with no real difference from the ones I didn't. And service life was not any less on the unsurfaced ones versus the ones that were. If the surface is not wavy or grooved I would not even take it off the crank.

I appreciate your input, I'm new to the world of tractors but I'm learning quick.
