flywheel ring gear

Hi all, I got my new ring gear and clutch kit yesterday. Is a Mapp gas torch sufficient to get the ring hot enough or do I need to find someone with acetylene rig?

I used my propane BBQ grill.

I just use the kitchen oven set on about 450F and leave it set 30-45 minutes to heat it up. Worked just fine.

I tried two hand held Mapp gas torches with no success. Bought a 5 pound bag of charcoal. Got the charcoal glowing hot with the help of a hand held fan burning in the shape of the ring then it got hot enough to slip on the flywheel.
