Follow up 20v chainsaw

After returning the first defective unit I'm generally pleased. You won't clear the land with it but thats not its purpose. I specifically got it to fill the gap between 1 1/2 inch to 3 inch goods. Below 1 1/2 inch gets the Sandvik pruners. Above 3 inch gets a gas saw. But, in that small brush zone it does the deal. I've been using it routinely for a few days and still holding its charge.

on the recommendation of george th indiana, i got a black and decker 20 v alligator saw. works good and will take a 3 inch limb no problem. great for pruning limbs. heres a link

I have a big Echo Timberwolf gas saw. I also have 20V electric Worx chain saw which I like very much. I also have the pole saw connection for it.

A few years ago, I purchased the 20V Worx jawsaw you see below. I REALY like this thing. It's great for after you have a bunch of limbs on the ground after cleaning up a tree. You just place the saw over the limb and push down on the handle. It cuts the limb and stop just short of the blade hitting the dirt. Of course you can also cut limbs right from the tree with it.

The Black and Decker alligator gets my vote for the best and safest 8 inch chainsaw for the small stuff up to 3 inches. I held the mouth of the gator open so you could see it's teeth. .

Not specifying fuel type necessarily, I too have multiple cutters when downing/pruning trees and clearing brush....just makes good sense and fast, pretty much effortless work. Seems like the batteries aren't too big to add too much weight to the battery powered units. That was one of my concerns in buying battery powered saws.

Yep. got one of the Dewalt 20V models beginning of wood season last year. At first, looking at it I figured it to be little more than a toy. Boy was I wrong. I've come to really like that thing. I buck up trees until around 5 inches or so. Got plenty of extra batteries and two chargers, so I never run out of power. The chain is just now needing attention but still cuts well enough. The only thing I have a beef with is the small bar oil tank. I'm going to empty it and measure how much it holds and then scrounge up a measuring cup the right size. Getting tired of oil all over everything.

For Christmas I got their 20V pole saw, grease gun, and an audio box/amplifier thingy. I'm thinking I'll report how well they work after I log some hours on them.

I've got the weed wacker, leaf blower, and hedge trimmer. All good tools, but the hedge trimmer is the most stunning improvement over my old stuff.

Tim, the weed whacker was our first foray into cordless out-door tools. Didn't take long to appreciate how it starts every time you pull the trigger. No fussing with gas and oil; seems like every time I went to use the combustion units, I spent more time getting them to run properly then the time it took to do the job. I'm also pretty happy with the 1/2-inch impact wrench. That and the right size socket on long road trips, who needs a tire iron?
