I have a 1986 1210, 4wd. Yesterday afternoon while pulling my Finish Mower, the tractor simply stopped moving forward,(won't go reverse either). HST pedal feels odd, not much resistance when applying the pedal in either direction.
I am the second owner, and aquired this tractor two years ago. When I purchased the tractor, I changed all fluids and filters with genuine Ford Products. Fluid level is good.
Any ideas ?(short of surgery)

I'm not familiar with that model, but it sounds like something might have broken or slipped out of place in the pedal linkage. or where the linkage goes into the HST.

Underneath the flywheel housing there is a flat plate, unbolt it and look up inside. I"ve had several with the linkage loose there. Most were just a lost a nut on the linkage.

Thanks John and Sean, I removed the inspection cover and looked at everything inside and there doesn"t appear to be anything abnormal, unfortunately.
I had been hoping the same thing, but it appears this may be a little more complicated, and a lot more expensive, any other suggestions?

I'd pull the hydraulic filter off and see how it looks. I have seen a lot of friction material on some filters that impede tranny operation. Normally that is caused by using the wrong tranny fluid.

Thanks Brian, I changed all the fluids and filters 2 years ago and I don't put many hours on the tractor so it is unlikely it's a filter issue, but I'll give it a shot anyway.
Thanks Again
