Ford 1300

I'm looking at a 1300 anyone know anything about the little tractors, if you had one did you like it, any pro or cons. Thanks

I drove a 1210 mowing for a while.. neat lil machine if you want a lawnmower sized tractor... very nimble.. just not much ground clearance.

I've driven a couple of Ford compacts, though never a 1300... Never was too impressed with them, but then I'm used to FARM tractors - tractors with way more iron in them, like a 4600. The compacts do have their place... as long as they're used within their limits.
The biggest thing I'd look at is a 1300's age, and what that means for parts availability and price.

I have a Ford 1300 2 wheel drive that I have had for about ten tears. I use it to mow my 4 acres of yard and use a 60 inch Allied tph rear mount snowblower to remove snow in the winter. My land is flat and I live in the snowbelt and get a lot of snow. Its a nice tractor for it's size. It"s a bit larger then the 1100 and 1200 series. As a whole I think it is a nice tractor.

especially things like crankshaft and front end 4wd components.. I hear those are more scarce than SOS parts..

I"ve owned a 1100 since 1992. Only major repair was a water pump. One battery in all that time, lights filters and flasher in about 1000 hours use. For a tiny compact, it is bullet-proof.

IMHO do not buy without 4WD unles you live on flat ground. I have to use 4WD to pull my 60" finish mower up most any grade, or it spins on grass.

No comparison to a Rider mower. Cannot make it drink over 2 gallons of fuel in a 12 hour day. And a 1300 should have more power.

It will get in places on my farm in VA and mow that my bigger Fords won"t, under tree limbs, and it gets used.

But it is like any tool. The size of the tool is comparable to the size of the task.

Thanks Wayne, I may not want it, because it is 2wd and its not flat where I live.
