This is my first post. I recently bought a ford 1310 that had been sitting for unknown years. Timing case was broken and internal linkages were destroyed. Replaced all that and reringed due to low compression. Now have good compression, injection sysrem function, and injection timing. Starts hard and runs for a few seconds with knocking and dies in 15 seconds. I'm stumped!!!
One thing I did not know is that the piston height at tdc should be measured and head gasket thickness selected according to pison height. I also used a chinese gasket set that came with a h'ead gasket of unknown thickness. I have some experience rebuilding gas engines but i do'nt know if this may be causing the issue.
Any advice wouild be appreciated. Thanks
