Ford 14-93 Sickle Bar Mower

would a Ford 14-93 Sickle Bar Mower work well on an 8n?

14-93 is the old numbering system.
It is a Ford 501 mower and will work great on an N and is much easier to mount on your tractor than the old Dearborn mowers.

You'll have to do some internet sleuthing for parts. I don't know about the Ford mowers, but I've had good luck with A&I, Herschel, and Webb Cutting Components for my McCormick. A quick search for Ford 501 on Webb's web site shows a lot of parts available.

In my area many are missing the stabilizer that clamps to the lift arm, so make sure it's there!
