Ford 1600 cab

I have a Ford 1600. It's in reasonably good shape so I put a 6 foot blade on the front for snow removal.

I'm looking for an all weather cab to put on. Apparently, they are near impossible to find.

I'm not a fan of soft sided cabs. I think the plastic windows would only turn yellow and become brittle with age.

Does anyone have any advice.

I know that you love your 1600, but parts for those Shibauras tend to be hard to come by. This means that you could break something tomorrow that woulds sideline it permanently. I would shop salvage yards for a used one. The early tractor cabs were generic and adapted on. They weren't specific to make or model.

For what it’s worth, I have a 1992 Kubota L2650 with a Sims cab. Metal frame, front glass windshield and canvas snap in sides and back. Sides and back are plastic windows. They havent yellowed at all. I did have one plastic replaced when I got too close to a tree and poked a large branch through it. My fault on that one.

Are you happy with the cab overall?
I've looked at the Sim's site several times and they don't do a good job at showing good pictures.

It's kinda like here's a computer generated image from 50 yards away.😆

Do you have any pictures of what it might look like with and without the sides on?

I am quite satisfied with the cab. I have a front blower on the tractor, and I get zero snow on me. No heat in it, but I never wear more than jeans and a carhart coat. Eventually my fingers get cold, but they always do. I do have some pics of the tractor, but have never tried to attach them on here.

FYI: If you can't find a hard cab, this soft cab and plastic windows came new with the tractor in 1988. The front window is glass. I have no problem doing snow.
