Price is right. Tractor is wrong.
It's a Jap or Korea Shibaru or some such rebadged and repainted as a Ford.
No dealer support. Rare and expensive parts availability.
If that price is within your reach look for a 2000/3000 or a 2600/3600. All of them 3 cylinder Fords. Gas or diesel. All the options you want with a reliability and continued Dealer support that you need.
Not much bigger than an N, they are an N refined, An N to the Nth degree.

Is this a good deal?

What can you tell me about this tractor? I have 20 acres to mow and a small food plot to plant.

It's a 20+ HP, 3 cylinder diesel, 4wd compact tractor made by Shibarau (Japanese) and sold by Ford with their badging in the 80's. Weighs in at 2500# and the gear drive is very versatile with 12 speeds forward/ 4 reverse. Shibarau is a major manufactiurer of diesel motors world wide and their motors are used in many different brands of machinery. I looked at the Fords during that time period and Ford was selling them new for 10K+ with a loader. That's very low hours if it's correct and I would consider that a reasonable but negotiable price as equipped. It should easily go 2000 hours without a burp and should be an excellent mowing and tilling machine. Folks on tractorbynet report they run 5' tillers with no problems.

After UD's comment on parts, which surprised me, I did a quick web search at Partspring and found most engine parts, new OEM short block ($4K ouch!!!) and many other mechanical amd chassis parts. There were some significant "out-of-stock" items in the power train but I'd be real surprised to learn CNH can't supply most if not all of the missing items (bigger ouch). I have a very similar Kubota (Japanese) from that same era and every single part on it is still available OEM from Kubota via my local CNH/Kubota dealer. I buy mine online (OEM) for a good bit less.

The Japanese compact tractors have excellent reputations as solid dependable, and nearly bullet proof machines - my personal experience with my Kubota has been exactly that. And when it did need service genuine OEM repair parts were readily available. Based on that experience I'd shop Kubota first but a Ford badged Shibarau wouldn't put me off.

I just looked on Partspring. They appear to have most everything in the front drive axle in stock. Prices pretty reasonable except for a new ring and pinion set - $1071.00  Transmission parts are sparser - most gears but not the shafts.
