I have a Ford 172 industrial in a Hydra Mac skid steer that is over heating, just got back from shop, blown head gasket, runs Great, took thermostat out and did not replace as told it would be ok, flushed out radiator, new antifreeze, after 15 minutes temp up to 240, any suggestions?

Use a thermometer and make sure the gauge is reading correctly.
Make sure that you pressure cap is the right pressure for that engine and it is working correctly.
Make sure the belt on the water pump is tight and the radiator air side is clean.
What does the coolant side core look like?
Look for a collapsed lower hose when you rev the engine up. There should be a wire coil in the lower hose to prevent this from happening.
Make sure the timing is set correctly and the carb mixture is not too lean.
