Ford 1720 charging issues

Friends,

I have a. 1990 Ford 1720 with an electrical issue. New alternator recently installed, still only getting 12 volts to the battery, and 13 plus at the alternator. Battery is definitely not charging.This tells me there's a disconnect somewhere between the battery and the alternator. Anyone experience anything similar and have any recommendations on where to start looking for the culprit? Thanks.

Using a test light and following the voltage from the battery to the fuse/fuse link connection and beyond to the Alternator (a wiring diagram is needed. Jim
