Ford 2000 hydraulic line

I recently bought a 1973 Ford 2000 tractor and when the seller was showing me the tractor he pushed the hydraulic lever and blew the line out at the connection to the hydraulic pump. Seller bought me a new nut and and seat for the metal hydraulic line coming out of the pump and said that the metal hydraulic line just needed to be put back in place and tightened down with the new nut and seat. Apparently, they had been having trouble at that connection for a while, but nothing major. What is the easiest way to make the repair permanent, hopeflly? Should I buy a new metal line (the current one has several nicks in it where they tried to attach it to the nut connection previously)? Where do you buy the new line? Do I need to bleed the system after I repair the line? Can I run the tractor in the meantime without repairing the line? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

can't help you on the tube number.. but i sure wouldn't run it with it leaking.. that pump spins any time the engine is running.. it's going to leak continously.. or run dry.. neither are good.

if the metal line is nicked.. try brazing it and then fileing or turning/sanding down to smooth good OD for the comp nut.
