ford 2000 oil filter

getting ready to change oil on my ford 74 2000 3 cylinder tractor and need to know the correct spin on oil filter number. It has a baldwin BF2 oil filter on now. I was looking online and bf2 doesn't come up went to baldwin site and it says I need a BT111. Went to wix site and it says I need a wix 51452 or wix 51775, just want to get right one. Also should I use 10w-30 or 10w-40 oil?.

napa 1452 or that wix 51452 are the same thing.

a napa 1515 works too.. but 1452 is better application fit.

and the list goes on.

dual 300, motorcraft fl1a, fram ph8a, supertech st8a and a billion others...

i like 15x40 C/S rated oil for just about all my tractors.

Thanks, the reason thatI want to make sure is because when I don't start my tractor for a month or so and I let it start you can hear it knock for 5 to 10 seconds. But when I spin it over for until the oil light goes out (5 to 10 sec) then let it start tractor has no knock. And then if I use tractor at least once a week I let it start right up and no knock. I have taken the valve cover off and it gets oil up to the rockers real quick. I was thinking that the oil filter is loosing its oil and thats the reason that it makes the knocking noise until it fills up the filter.I changed the oil last year just before hay season and the fellow that I get some of my parts from sold me a Baldwin BF2 oil filter. The tractor is a 3 cylinder gasser.I bale 3500 to 4000 square bales a year tractor runs great.Thanks again gonna change oil and put a napa 1452 filter.

if top end oils fast.. i would not worry.. that means you have flow.

you will get flow before you completely pressurize.

PS... you can always go to a synthetic oil too..

Since it is a gasser.. a 10w30 full syn oil .. even walmart brand, will be way better than what it had 40 ys ago. I'd go with 15w40 C/S rated. OR 10w30 full syn like the walmart or kendall oil. either option is decently cheap for that quantity needed...
