Ford 2000 rear end

Could anyone tell me if a rear end housing and ring and pinion from a 600 or 601 Ford tractor will fit into a 1963 4 cylinder 2000 Ford tractor? Thanks for any information you can give me. John

Yes, they are a direct replacement, unless the 2000 is an offset model. The input splines on the pinion gear might be the earlier coarse spline version, and at some point they switched to the fine splines and the 2000 is definitely the fine splines, so if it is from an earlier model with the coarse splines then you might need to find a coarse spline output shaft for the transmission, or else just cut the coarse and fine spline couplers in half and weld the two halves together.
